Flue extract sealed up & plastered in Raheny

Flue extract sealed up & plastered in Raheny

Some step by step photos from a home in Raheny this week. My client required an old flue extract sealed up and plastered. The job was done on budget and in time and with no mess.

How we repaired this plasterboard wall

The opening in the plasterboard wall was formed when an internal gas boiler flue was removed due to a heating up grade.

Step 1: Protecting the Floor & Patching The Area

The first step is to protect the floor area with some drop sheets and to remove the existing expansion foam from the ope.

Square the opening using a pad-saw, making the area easier to be patched with a new piece of cut to size plasterboard.

Step 2: New Timber

Install new timber grounds to receive the new plasterboard.

Step 3: Plaster Board

We then screw in new cut to size plasterboard.

Step 4: Plastering

Plaster over with fillers. Leave to dry. Lightly sand and repaint.
